An Installation at Red Hook Art Lot – Part of the group exhibition: “All Jokes Aside” [currently running through the end of September 2011] curated by Natalia Zubko
An assortment of vining plants are planted along the fence encircling the Red Hook Art Lot. Beans, Morning Glories, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Watermelons, Cantaloupe, and Wisteria steadily climb their way up and along the fence, winding around other works of art. As other works in the exhibition demarcate the passage of time through their gradual decomposition and subsequent repair, the plants in “Wind” grow and develop over time, needing little more than the occasional watering.
